I'm getting frequent crashes that may or may not be tied to True Terrain 5/True-Sky. In contrast with my older machine, the crashes happen during viewport operations, not during render time. I may need to do scene setup on the old machine to test if it's a local issue. I'll raise another bug with the TrueVFX team once I document logging and step replication.
Stuff that I do
Making terrain heightmaps has become a comfort blanket. It's easy and doesn't require much technical or creative effort. I've spent a few days of Blender time making terrains, playing with them in Blender, then experiencing sporadic crashes to desktop.

A test scene that almost turned into a proper terrain project. I may file this away for further exploration. The glowing elements tested the idea of scattered tents around the hill. They're too uniformly bright for that, but it sold me on the idea of a scene that includes lighting elements in a dusk/evening setting.
Things to do:
- Finish and clean up the Gunship. I still want to produce an excellent scene for my portfolio, including this ship on a landing pad.
- Sketch a giant robot for the next project. A big mech, but with something different.
- More Blender learning. Recent efforts away from Blender have made it harder to commit the time and brainpower to learning and revising workflows.
