I just learned something very important. Something I should have made it my business to learn may years ago. It changes everything!

Multiple UV maps per mesh!

Later I'll probably learn this is a hideously expensive workaround for bad UV management but today I feel like pre-crash-and-burn Icarus.


With a scond UV I can fine-tine the texture of the end of the cylinder

COVID Day 4

 

Some limited and not entirely satisfactory progress on the lifter. I vowed that I wouldn't restart again but I will make some adjustments later.

I got COVID

 
I tested positive a couple of days ago. My wife and eldest son had already gone through a week with it. The house extension kept me busy over the holidays, when I'd otherwise be Blendering some.

 I've built, rejected and rebuilt the lifter a number of times. Quite a larger number of times, actually. I think I'm going to restart it soon, after a break.
